Jurgita Šlekytė joins the Supervisory Board of Maxima Grupė

A new member has been added to the Supervisory Board of Maxima Grupė, Jurgita Šlekytė, who has also been elected to succeed Jolanta Bivainytė as Chairwoman of that body. As of 1 June, J. Šlekytė was appointed a Member of the Board of Directors of Vilniaus Prekyba UAB, having previously served as head of legal services at Maxima Grupė. She has been working in the group for more than 10 years.

“Jurgita’s work experience in the group, along with her legal expertise, will be very valuable at this stage in the organization’s development, when it is undertaking strategically important expansion projects in foreign markets and integrating its retail chains in Poland,” said Jolanta Bivainytė, the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vilniaus Prekyba.

“The chance to join the group’s Supervisory Board at this time of active international expansion is an interesting personal challenge. I’ve worked in the organization for more than a decade and know its inner workings well, which I think will help me get up to speed quickly in the new role. The Supervisory Board’s functions and priorities won’t change – we’ll seek to ensure the strategic oversight of Maxima Grupė’s operations,” Jurgita Šlekytė said.

The Supervisory Board of Maxima Grupė also includes: Ignas Staškevičius, a minority shareholder in the Vilniaus Prekyba group, Raimonda Kižienė, the Chairwoman of the Board and CEO of Euroapotheca, Marius Čatrauskas, Director and a Member of the Board of Vilniaus Prekyba, and Jolanta Bivainytė, the Chairwoman of the Board of Vilniaus Prekyba and Director of Metodika B.V.

Eugenijus Filonovas, who previously served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Vilniaus Prekyba, will replace Jurgita Šlekytė as the chief legal officer at Maxima Grupė.
